The psycopath in the White House, and his psychophants, are not doing anything good for the Jews. Using antisemitism as a cudgel to beat wokeness out of America’s elite universities and into sedated submission is just another way to scapegoat us. Nothing subtle, nothing new about it.

Yes indeed, there are antisemites on US campuses, among faculty, students, boards and administrations. Antisemitism has always existed — throughout all of American life at every level of society, and in every nook and niche — longstanding, ineradicable so far, unlikely to be changed by Trump, Herr Musk of the Nazi salute, his Doggies, et. al. These are cynical people, using Jews to excuse  themselves and their extralegal actions.

The electric charge of antisemitism is a taser gun to forcefully pry open the Ivied gates. The traditional liberal bent of higher education, antithetical to right wing regard, fuels the assaults on Harvard, Columbia, MIT, Johns Hopkins, NYU, etc. We Jews are being used by Trump. We are being used to falsely justify curbs on free speech and the protections of the First Amendment.

We are being used to justify snatching and jailing men and women off the street — without charge — who may have professed support for Palestinians in the face of what has become the Israeli genocide. These are people who are here legally. Trump is shipping ‘em off to a concentration camp in Louisiana; he does this and calls it intolerance for antisemitism. These are people with some views we may strongly oppose. But elementary constitutional rights outweigh draconian and possibly illegal acts.

This is good for the Jews?
